Graduate Student Manita Kafle Recognized with Graduate Student Research Award

We are delighted to share that graduate student Manita Kafle, in the Precision Poultry Management Group under the supervision of Dr. Yang Zhao, has been awarded the Graduate Student Research Award by the University of Tennessee Graduate School. This award recognizes outstanding graduate research contributions across disciplines.

Manita received this honor for her research on “Developing an Automated System for Real-Time Monitoring of Perching Behaviors in Broiler Chickens.” Her work focuses on developing an automated system for monitoring broiler behavior, advancing precision poultry management, and contributing to poultry welfare and management practices.
