Precision Poultry Management Group at IPPE 2025

The Precision Poultry Management Group participated in the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) 2025, engaging with industry professionals and researchers to discuss advancements in precision livestock farming. This event provided an excellent platform to exchange insights on innovative technologies and management strategies aimed at enhancing poultry production and welfare.

Dr. Yang Zhao, along with graduate students Tanner Thornton, Manita Kafle, and Shengyu Zhou, represented the group at the event. The conference featured insightful presentations from our group:

  • Tanner Thornton – Enhancing Mortality Detection in Broiler Production: Evaluating a Rail-Mounted Robotic System’s Accuracy and Limitations
  • Shengyu Zhou – Evaluating Broiler Activity Index, Stretching, and Preening Behaviors as Affected by Stocking Density
