With the recent report of avian influenza in a commercial poultry flock in northern Georgia and in backyard flocks in nearby Arkansas and North Carolina, the Tennessee Poultry Association has made the difficult decision to cancel its fall grower meetings scheduled for next week in Martin and Cleveland.
This is done over concerns for biosecurity and out of an abundance of caution as Tennessee tries to keep its backyard and commercial flocks avian influenza free. Please use good biosecurity in the coming months when working with your flocks to help prevent an avian influenza break here in Tennessee.
